This week I have been in Philadelphia (Philly) for a Goldman Sachs event, a get together with other CEOs which GS have invested in. I always like this kind of event because you can share and learn about other CEO experiences, a big thanks to Ted from GS for the invitation.

The goal of this work day was to talk about managing a company in this uncertain economic time. There were speakers with Goldman’s perspective on the economic situation in the next months, and some strategies we can adopt. Frankly, I was very proud to be there with some of the top companies that Goldman Sachs believe are the leaders in our « space ». For a guy like me, from Quebec, who started iWeb 12 years ago in my basement, to be there in Philly was great. I was the only one from Canada, the other CEOs were from the USA.

We had dinner before the event and the big concern was about the stimulus package. It was very interesting to realize that whether you are from the U.S., Canada, the challenges are the same: how will companies deal with thes stimulus packages and what are the rules? Until they figure out what the rules will be for managing this money, companies are waiting, desperately needing this money. But the challenge for all governments is to keep these stimulus packages objective – and that’s not easy!
